Angurugu
Opened in 2021 on Groote Eylandt, the Angurugu laundry is our best performer. In the first month of opening it did over 851 cycles and demand remains strong.
Owned by the Groote Eylandt Aboriginal Trust, it employs NINE people.
Casuarina
First and foremost our Casuarina laundry offers free washing to people in northern Darwin. It is also a training facility for new laundry staff and offers a hands on experience for partners and funding groups to see the laundry in action.
The Casuarina laundry opened in 2020 and employs FIVE people.
Barunga
This is our first laundry which was opened in 2019 and has been a star performer. Latest health figures in Barunga show a reduction in scabies by 60% since the laundry opened.
The Barunga laundry employs SIX people.
Bickerton Island
Situated in East Arnhem Land, the Bickerton Island laundry is our first laundry to run entirely off rain water.
Launched in July 2022, the unit is owned by the Groote Eylandt Aboriginal Trust, and employs EIGHT people.
